What does it smell like?

What’s a mineral sunscreen? How is it different from a chemical one, and why does it matter?
A mineral sunscreen is often called a physical sunscreen because they act like a shield. Mineral sunscreens contain UV filters that sit on top of the skin to block and reflect the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. Zinc oxide and titanium oxide are the main active ingredients in mineral sunscreen. Mineral sunscreens are generally better for sensitive and acne-prone skin, because they tend to be less irritating and more moisturizing. Chemical sunscreens penetrate your skin, absorb UV rays like a sponge, and transform them into heat. Chemical UV filters include ingredients like oxybenzone, avobenzone, and octinoxate. However, most chemical sunscreens aren’t reef-safe and their active ingredients can be more irritating for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin.
Will it leave a white cast?
No. Our advanced mineral formulas are designed to blend in seamlessly. Our SPF tints eliminate white cast entirely and are best applied with our double-ended complexion brush for a smooth, even finish. Facebrella SPF 30 blends in clear with a natural finish—simply warm between your fingers before applying.
